Advocating for girls’ education
Al-Fayhaa Association, with the support of (ACTED), organized a conference in which it invited a number of
official activities to address the issue of educating women who have dropped out of school or who are at risk
of dropping out, focusing on social violence inside and outside the school.
In conclusion of the “Advocacy for Girls’ Education” project, Al-Fayhaa Association, with the support of
ACTED funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a conference in which it invited a number of
official events, decision-makers, heads and members of associations, managers, and professors; To address the
issue of “advocating girls’ education” and highlight the importance of educating female school dropouts or who
are at risk of dropping out, especially in and around Bab al-Tabbaneh, by focusing on gender-based violence
inside and outside the school and “School-Related Gender-Based Violence”.
This conference was opened with a welcoming speech by the President of the Al-Fayhaa Society, Dr. Ayman Desouky.
This was followed by a speech by Ms. Rayan Rajab, who provided a brief and comprehensive definition of the
project and its importance. Then, he presented an explanation of the results of the study
“Advocating Girls’ Education” touched on the issue of gender-based violence in some Tripoli schools,
which Ms. Farah Halawani kindly presented and explained its details.
Ms. Seddiqa Kubba had valuable and useful participation in a lecture she gave on the importance of girls’
education and limiting gender-based violence, as it opened an opportunity to ask questions and inquire about
the subject. The conference was followed by a cocktail party.
